As many of you know, throughout this entire year we celebrated 100 years since the establishment of our workshop in 1915. As the year comes to a close we wanted to treat our friends, clients and co-workers with a cocktail which took place this last Tuesday, December 15 at the magnificent Orchestra Hall of the Madrid Opera House (Teatro Real). With this small event, Felipe, Maria and Felipe Jr. wanted to personally thank our friends for all the support throughout the years that meant so very much. We especially thank Carlos Falcó, Marquee of Griñón for his friendship and continued support; to our friends Miguel Rivera and Nacho García who played a short concert for the guests as well as the Aguilar Quartet who delighted us with their music performed on instruments built by Esteso himself in the 1920´s.
The cocktail was accompanied by the superb wines from the Marques of Griñón and Abadía Retuerta Estates as well as the manchego cheese from Dehesa de los Llanos. These products were generously provided by our fellow Círculo Fortuny members.
For this special occasion we exhibited the workbenches that belonged to Domingo Esteso and my father Mariano Conde Salamanca, as well as a variety of guitars illustrating the history of the development of the instrument as well as the evolution of our own guitars over the past century.
It was great to see many old friends and artists that have been connected to our workshop over the years. It was especially wonderful to see Ricarda Serrapí, daughter of the late Maestro Niño Ricardo a great family friend and an irreplaceable flamenco figure. José Luís Montón, Oscar Herrero, Patxi Andión, Carlos de Jacoba, Vicente Vizcaino, Jose María Bandera and numerous others were also there on this special evening.
Our gratitude goes to all those who accompanied us on this very important occasion for us. We plan to continue this family tradition over the coming generations and your support is a huge part of this endeavor.
