Domingo Esteso 1931
A classical guitar built by maestro Domingo Esteso in 1931 with a spruce soundboard and ebony fretboard, Honduran cedar neck and Brazilian rosewood back and sides. The interior label is signed by the builder himself. As it was usual for Esteso’s first class guitars built in the 1930’s this guitar was acquired by an argentine middle-class family at the Casa Romero y Fernández from Rosario. It was undoubtedly very well preserved in their care. This guitar is characterized by the typical sober aesthetics Esteso is known for. The rosette has a simple geometric design with concentric circles in red, white, black and green. The guitar is in an overall very good condition with only a few cracks in the back and one small crack on the soundboard, all professionally repaired by the reputable Antigua Casa Núñez from Buenos Aires many years ago. The guitar is very lightweight, it’s very comfortable and has a warm timbre with long sustain. This guitar pertains to Felipe Conde’s personal collection.
