The 25th edition of the well known Curso Flemanco organized by Gerardo Nuñez and Carmen Cortés starts today and it will take place at Sanlúcar de Barrameda (Cádiz) as usual. As in the previous years, we will join the crowd for a few days. As always, we will bring a few guitars we have recently built and in particular María and Felipe Jr. will be showing the guitars they built in the past months.
The programming is quite promising as usual. Apart from Gerardo Núñez and Carmen Cortés, familiar faces like David Carpio is back and will be teaching flamenco singing. Antonio Carrión will be heading a course on guitar accompaniment for flamenco singing and Angel Sánchez “Cepillo” will guide us through the art of flamenco percussion.
This year there are two new additions to the teaching staff; two well recognized artists like Chano Domínguez who will be teaching a hands-on course on Flamenco and Jazz Piano and guitar for accompaniment of flamenco dancing imparted by Tino Vandersman together with Ángela Españadero. Ángela will also direct repeat classes previously given by Carmen Cortés.
The guitar and percussion classes will take place at the Auditorio de la Merced and at the Patio de la Victoria. The dance classes will take place at the Patio de la Victoria and the Flamenco and Jazz Piano classes will be imparted at the Los Tartaneros Hotel.
